The CEO of Cryptsys is accused of being 17 years old

The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Wednesday that Paul E. Vernon, founder, operator and CEO of Project Investors Inc., is taking steps to address the situation now that Cryptsy has been indicted.

A 17-year-old indictment has been issued in which he accused Vernon, 48, of misconduct for his involvement in a major theft involving his cryptocurrency scandal, advertising details and added:

The charges related to employment, tax evasion, bank transfer fraud, money laundering, computer fraud, manipulation of data, documents and bonus items, and destruction of history in a federal investigation.

According to the indictment, Vernon asked investors of p.s. and trades cryptocurrencies through the Cryptsy platform.

But between May 2013 and May 2015, Vernon again used his control over Cryptsys accounts, known as wallets, to steal more than a million dollars from Cryptsys cryptocurrency wallets, DD said.

He then deposited the stolen money in his personal crypto-wallet, which he then transferred to apologize personally. The DOJ stated:

At no point in this era did Vernon admit to stealing "his clients money" from Cryptsy wallets.

In July 2014, Vernon told Cryptsy employees that the series had been hacked by mysterious hackers and that $ 5 million in bitcoin and similar cryptocurrencies had also been stolen.

However, the platform continued normally for six months and encouraged more clients without telling them that its safety was at stake, the justice department explained.

In November 2015, Vernon suddenly moved to China, where he publicly told Cryptsy clients about the 2014 hacking and loss of bitcoin and the accumulation of cryptocurrencies.

In total, the Department of Justice noted that after being informed that Cryptsy failed in April 2016:

Vernon hacked into Cryptsy servers from a remote location, stole the Cryptsys client money database, and destroyed the client database to hide its illegal existence.

Furthermore, the indictment alleges that Vernon tried to evade his 2014 and 2015 tax liabilities.
